A day to commemorate and learn from the Lewes Floods of October 2000. With talks and activities for all ages, plus a Public Meeting at 2pm chaired by former MP Norman Baker with local experts and flood professionals to explore what flood risk Lewes faces now – and how to manage it.

Virtual Reality Deep Water Rescue Experience

Small Talks area to have your opportunity to give a 5-minute talk about your experiences of the October 2000 Floods

11am and 12.30pm: Wishworks Puppet Shows - Two performances of water-themed fairytale fun from these Lewes-based puppeteers

11.45am - How could rising sea levels affect us? Dr John Parry takes us through a digital fly-through of the Lower Ouse Valley to explore the potential impact of rising sea levels on our communities.

1.15pm - Harvey's & the Tale of Ouse Booze: Miles Jenner, Head Brewer & Joint Managing Director of Harvey's, recounts how the flooding of the brewery gave rise to a unique beer. The talk will take place in the Assembly Rooms.

And the big event at 2pm is Lewes & Flooding: The Public Meeting - A panel of experts chaired by former Lewes MP Norman Baker ask 'Could Lewes flood again?'
